I am very encouraging of my kids to participate in sports - we have done karate, dance, soccer, gymnastics, physie, Auskick, cheerleading, swimming and little athletics - and through all this, my kids have found sports that they love and enjoy.

I think that in this technological age, it is very important for kids to get out there and participate in activities that stimulate their mind and body, widen their social circles, provide them with responsibilities and goals and keeps them active.

Being a sports mum I know first hand how demanding kids sports can be. I know the requirements and the juggling act that is required - rushing to get kids from school to their sports, the early weekend morning starts (not fun in winter!), standing around watching kids play sport, taxiing them around, encouraging them, supporting them, nurturing them, feeding them and the endless fees!!

In saying that, I wouldn't change anything - seeing my kids happy, growing, making new friends, achieving personal bests and loving their sports life - it makes it all worthwhile.
